Linked In

I heard today that 70% of the people have their currnet job because of someone that they knew. Networking couldn't be more important, but in some occupations it can be very difficult as well. In case you haven't found it yet, LinkedIn is another social networking website. No, it isn't like facebook or myspace for social networking. LinkedIn is for professionals to connect with other professionals. I had heard about it in the past, checked it out, but never created an account until today. It allows you to make a professional profile, connect with people that you know, join groups that you belong to such as professional organizations and alumni organizations. It is just like a networking luncheon without the tiny sandwishes and bad pasta salad.

You can personalize your Linked In link so that it isn't a long string of numbers. Easier to remember and cooler to look at on the business card that I keep meaning to make. Check me out and connect with me if you want.

Enjoy ~SJ

AHHHHH! I haven't even gotten brave enough to try Facebook yet, and now you want me to try something new!! This interweb thing is just too darned overwhelming to the generation whose first computer was a (and I literally mean only one) TRS80 in the back of the math classroom.
